10 Thanksgiving Books to Read Aloud to Kids

0

It’s TURKEY TIME! Thanksgiving is right around the corner and this is the perfect time to start reading Thanksgiving themed books. Reading is fundamental. To encourage reading in our house, we like to read fun books that have great, vivid pictures to help the stories come together. The fall is our favorite time of year.  It is finally the time of year when holidays come back to back and before we know it, we will be sitting around the table with family enjoying the traditions of the holiday.

Children are encouraged to read every single day. My kids, like most kids, enjoy reading books they are interested in and they can read on their own.  These books are age-appropriate for ages 3 and up and fun for the whole family.

Kids can have fun acting out these stories too! Imagine dressing your kids up in a DIY turkey costume and let them be the turkey in How to Catch a Turkey.  They can create their idea of the perfect pie like in Peyton Picks the Perfect Pie: A Thanksgiving Celebration. Get as creative as you like, the possibilities are limitless.

So now, pick a book from the list below, grab the kiddos and enjoy a good story about a turkey or two.
