SEA & SAIL ADVENTURE CAMP ⭐️

Ages: 6-12

One of our favorites, this camp fills up quickly! The history and heritage of the Mississippi Gulf Coast extends back to the arrival of the French over 300 years ago.  The Sea-n-Sail Adventure Camp is a day camp that is designed to bring about a greater awareness of our original history and maritime heritage through a variety of fun and educational activities.

All Sea-n-Sail Adventure Campers will take two sailing trips aboard one of the Museum’s famous replicas of the Biloxi Schooner.

DOLPHIN & STINGRAY ADVENTURE CAMP

If your child loves animals and the water, then check out this immersive week-long day camp where your child can step into the rubber boots of a marine scientist and experience the world of dolphins, sea lions, rays, sharks, and other animals who live at IMMS and Ocean Adventures.


Camp Aqua CAMP AQUA: INVESTIGATE-GATORS

Does your camper like to learn about new animals, explore nature, and spend time outside? Then Camp Aqua is the place to be this summer! 

Investi-Gators will take an in-depth look at fish, dolphins, birds, reptiles, and invertebrate anatomy by observing animals on campus and in the Mississippi Sound. Camp days are full of educational games, take-home crafts, hands-on experiments, ambassador animal encounters, and guest appearances from behind-the-scenes staff.

ISLAND ADVENTURE CAMP

Explore Coastal Mississippi this summer like never before! This four-day camp is new in 2022 and will take campers to explore the sandy beaches of some of the Northern Gulf of Mexico’s most important islands.

Campers will learn about island ecology and the geography of Mississippi’s islands. The adventure embarks on beach days and marsh tours before setting out later in the week to explore Deer Island and learn about Coastal Preserves.

SHAGGY‘S ANGLER CAMP

Grades: 7th-12th

If your child loves to fish, this is the camp for them. Young anglers fish everyday with expert saltwater fishing educational team and learn a lifetime of saltwater fishing techniques.

Participants explore fish biology and behavior and how weather, wind, moon and tides affect fishing. Anglers will learn how to throw a net to catch bait and how to target speckled trout, redfish and flounder. Participants will fish a variety of saltwater habitats aboard vessels and at the islands.


SHARKHEADS SHARK FEST

Grades: 7th-12th

Why watch shark week on TV when you can live it? Shark Fest participants may encounter Atlantic sharpnose, bonnethead, blacktip, spinner, hammerhead and bull sharks. Board vessels to long line for sharks and participate in shark research with USM scientists by catching, tagging and releasing sharks.

SEA CAMP: ULTIMATE SEA-VIVOR

Grades: 1st-6th

Sea Camp is back in its 35th year with the “Ultimate Sea-vivor” theme. Marine educators provide students with a rich educational experience wrapped up in lots of fun, games and hands-on activities. Participants explore coastal salt marshes with educators aboard the university research vessel, the Miss Peetsy B. Activities include live animal encounters with coastal wildlife and opportunities to fish, crab, seine and sieve. Students will participate in field trips appropriate for their ages, such as exploring beach habitats.
