Thanksgiving, it’s the time of year we tend to slow down a bit and get a little more grateful for the years blessings and all the people in our lives that help us through.

Family is always my first thought but a close second is friends. For many of us, our friends have become like family. I love that Friendsgiving gives us an extra special day to celebrate those mom friends. The close friends that you call when you need advice; who check-in with you because they know you’ve had some challenges lately; or the friend that needs a good laugh and time away from the kids.

FRIENDS, REFRESHMENTS & FLOWERS

I mean, is there anything better?

Not that I need a reason to indulge in any of these things, but if there were a reason . . . Friendsgiving would be it!

Moms Tina and Rachel making fall arrangementsGulf Coast Mom hosted another fabulous Moms Night Out this past weekend with help from two amazing local Gulf Coast companies, Snip & Sip Floral Design Classes and Pass the Juice. I was honored to be invited to share in the fun! Moms came from all over the coast to celebrate friendships and take a break from being Mom.

CLASS IS IN SESSION

I’ll be honest, I am a sucker for a good class or learning experience. BUT I was terrified to be making a floral arrangement… especially one that was going on my Thanksgiving table for all to see! I totally do not have a green thumb.  (Anyone else?)

FlowersI was quickly put at ease when Rachel, from Snip & Sip Floral Design Classes, started demonstrating. She not only gave us all the tools and flowers for our projects, but she also explained how and why we were using each flower or stem. She made flower arranging foolproof! I felt completely comfortable trimming down my stems and placing them in my flower box. Oh, and that flower box! Rustic is all the rage and how perfect was it that our Autumn coastal sunset flower arrangements were going inside a beautiful wooden vase. I’m telling you, every detail was thought of!

JUICY DRINKS

Seriously, can you pass the juice, please?  Snip & Sip classes are always BYOB, but there was no need for our Moms Night Out Friendsgiving event, Pass the Juice had us covered.

Moms love Pass the juice drinkDuring the event, we were treated to samplings of different delicious fresh, cold-pressed juices and smoothies available at Pass the Juice. They offer detox drinks, smoothies, shots, juices, fruit and açaí bowls, as well as, fresh salads. All organic and all packed full of nutrition and deliciousness! You may be thinking, “Why these healthy drinks?” But listen! Each drink was refreshing, invigorating, and never tasted “healthy”. You have to try it out, Mamma!

I had a perfect moms night out filled with laughter, good drinks, friends, and even left with a Thanksgiving arrangement that I’m proud of. This Friendsgiving event was my first taste of both, Snip & Sip and Pass the Juice, businesses and I can you… I WILL BE BACK!
