Have you heard that Hope Academy is expanding?

This July, they will be opening a second campus in the Bayou View neighborhood of Gulfport. There, they will offer programs for 3 and 4 year-old students on the same year-round schedule as the Gulfport School District. The Florence Gardens Campus will continue to offer preschool, elementary and middle school.

Hope Academy opened its doors in 2014 and has grown by leaps and bounds each year since.

Why? We’re so glad you asked…

As moms, we all want to see our children thrive. We want to give them all the skills they need to live their very best lives.  And that’s exactly what Hope Academy sets out to do—to empower our students with leadership and life skills to thrive in the 21st century.

From the moment you meet a Hope Academy student, you’ll see why they stand out from the crowd.

They are LEADERS.

Hope Academy is a “Leader in Me” member school. As part of our process, student leadership teams are used to help engage students of all ages in the routines and responsibilities of the day. Students serve as greeters, lead the morning announcements, provide input and plan school-wide events, help in the library, contribute to maintaining the beauty of the campus and grounds, and perform various classroom leadership roles.

They are SCHOLARS.

School-wide, our Reading, Language, and Math courses are based on the ACT Standards of Readiness, giving our students at Hope Academy an outstanding chance of success in first-year credit-bearing college courses.

Plus, we use a Schoolwide Enrichment Program that promotes the use of gifted outcomes for ALL students. 70% of our educators hold advanced degrees, and each one has a true passion for nurturing our scholars. And—perhaps the most important piece of all—we do it all in an environment where students feel safe and valued.

They are CREATORS.

We appreciate the value of arts in education. That’s why visual and performing arts are fully integrated into the curriculum for students of all ages and we have an entire building – The Studio – dedicated to these programs. It is a space where students can flex their creative muscles, sing as loudly as their lungs will allow and splatter the floors with paint as they create and learn.
