Simple Homemade Toaster Pastries
Any other millennial mamas out there who grew up on toaster strudels and pop tarts? I really think we ate them every single day for breakfast.
I found a simple recipe that seemed like my toddlers could help and we gave it at try and it was SO good that I felt it needed a permanent spot on the blog!
Needless to say, these were a huge hit and even my husband asked if we could keep a freezer stash! I did slightly overfill them…but hey… extra jelly never hurt anybody ;)
You need:
1 package frozen puff pastry, thawed
jelly or jam of choice (we went with strawberry)
premade icing OR make your own with milk + powdered sugar
What to do:
Sprinkle a little flour on the counter and lay out your puff pastry.
Roll it out until it makes a rectangle and cut into 8 mini rectangles (you could even do 16 smaller ones)
Spread jam on half of your rectangles, leaving space around the edges.
Top each rectangle with the other rectangles and pinch down edges with a fork.
Bake according to puff pasty package instructions.
Drizzle with pre made icing OR mix 1/2 cup powdered sugar and a splash of milk to make your own!
