Creative play: Lynn Meadows is a multi-level facility stacked with unlimited avenues to create and play! This discovery center provides space for children to explore a veterinary hospital, train station, seacraft, outer space, grocery store, news broadcasting station and more. The benefits of creative play are limitless but here are a few that stick out to me: sensory development, exploring the imagination, individual confidence, social confidence, and concentration and attention development.
The Art Room: Every visit you make to the discovery center there is an art project/ craft ready for your children to design! Simple yet impactful, the art projects never disappoint. They are appropriate for all age levels and are hands-on learning experiences. Beautiful marble art to replicas of extravagant headdresses, there is always an adult lead art project available when you visit.
Outdoor Play: Ready to explore outdoors? Lynn Meadows also has fantastic outdoor activitiesthat encourage physical fitness and roaring imaginations. HUGE treehouses adorn the large oaks on the grounds of Lynn Meadows. There is also a choo choo train, submarine, and a whole life-size village ready to explore! Might I mention the grounds of Lynn Meadows are great for a picnic or simply to bring a blanket and layback and search the clouds!
Special Events/Holidays: Lynn Meadows never ceases to amaze me with their calendar of events. The calendar can be found on their website, and it doesn’t sleep! It’s filled with events such as a visit from Pete the Cat, pirate day, kitten day, and many other holiday affairs! If you are looking for a place to celebrate or make an ordinary day extraordinary, pick-up Lynn Meadow’s calendar and I’ll meet you there!
WINGS: To accentuate the fantastic discovery center there is a performing arts program tha tputs on about nine performances a year. This includes public performances for us to enjoy even when our littles are not involved. They are simply AH-MAZING shows with great music, costumes, and props. Furthermore, there’s a great opportunity for your child to get involved with a local theatre. Creating friendships, skills, accessing a creative outlet and developing great talent can be done! WINGS shines big, yall and I am here for it!
1st Children’s Museum in the State: Lynn Meadows has been here for a minute! They are celebrating 25 years of serving Mississippians with a fabulous discovery center. Right here on the Gulf Coast, we have the first non-profit children’s museum! Congratulate them! Celebrate them! Cherish them! We are SO lucky to have Lynn Meadows since 1998! They are tried and true.
