ALINA GOLDIN
We are so excited to introduce you to Alina Goldin! You may recognize Alina as the Executive Director of the Dynamic Enrichment Network- AKA- The DEN. Not only is she an incredible asset to our community, she’s also an amazing wife and mother!
“I got married to a lifelong Coast Resident, Jason, and he whisked me away from the big city life of Atlanta to the amazing Mississippi Gulf Coast. A year after being married we were blessed to have our son Jake and 3 years later our daughter Emma. Our kids have been very involved in Coast life and participated in activities across the three coastal counties. We truly enjoy spending time together whether it is weekends on the water, cooking at home, running to various events, or traveling. I have been blessed to be a stay-at-home mom for 14 years and have loved watching our family grow.”
Alina Goldin serves as Executive Director of the Dynamic Enrichment Network (AKA The DEN). The mission of The DEN is to enrich the community in a collaborative space for the betterment of mind and body. Alina's vision for The DEN came where she wanted to have multiple activities under one roof where citizens can come learn, grown, and expand their minds. Imagine a place where art, science, creative thinking, and technology come together. A place where your daughter can take a dance class while your son plays chess at the same time, under one roof. This is the vision at The DEN. Multiple activities, one roof. The DEN was established in 2022 because Alina felt there was a need for more opportunities on the Coast. "There are so many talented and hardworking people down here. I wanted them to have a place where people can teach their skills and people’s minds can expand." The DEN is mostly open for afterschool activities but the dream is to have it open morning until night with activities for special needs, stay-at-home-parents, homeschool families, and senior citizens. The dream is just starting so watch out! There is so much more to come!
Alina has been an active member of the Gulfport community since moving to the Coast from Atlanta in 2009. She was a member of Junior Auxiliary of Gulfport for six years, on the board for four years, served as President, Vice President of Finance and Vice President of General Welfare. As part of those responsibilities, she oversaw the fundraising activities and the efforts to provide resources for children in need. Alina is the past PTA President and previous Fundraising Chair at Bayou View Elementary School and is the recipient of Bayou View Elementary Partner in Education award. Other volunteer organizations and planning committees have included March of Dimes, American Lung Association and American Heart Association Gala.
When asked to share a piece of advice with all the mamas out there, this is what she said:
“We are moms but we are so much more than that. We have the hardest job in the world! We are our family's chefs, therapists, nurses, drivers, cuddlers, punching bags, and the list goes on and on. We see so much "perfection" on social media and stress ourselves out with trying to be the idea of perfect. Let’s get real. No one’s house is that clean, no one looks that good at 6AM, and every family has issues! My advice would be to go to bed knowing you were the best mom/wife/friend/family member you can be and forget about the idea of “perfection”. And remember, every day is a new start!”
