Today we are featuring Allison Laney! She is the proud wife to a Navy Officer and the crazy momma to 3 boys and a sweet baby girl. She also just started the journey of homeschooling for her kids with the help of her mom!

You may also know Allison as the founder of Lil' Shrimps Swim Academy where she and her team of incredible instructors have been teaching babies Survival Swim!

"I truly believe God blessed me with a servant’s heart to help others. I am the founder of Lil Shrimps Swim Academy, swimming is truly my passion project, there is just something sweet about helping a baby work through the struggle of deep water and come up proud of themselves as they conquer their fear and begin swim float swimming. Every summer I get told stories of survival instead of stories of sadness. I am humbled to be trusted to grow this gift of swimming all over the Gulf Coast."

As if summers in the pool aren’t enough, Allison is also a Family Nurse Practitioner! She recently opened Roots Wellness, Farm & Retreat Center , which is an integrative holistic healing center.

"I like to take what I have learned in traditional western medicine while bringing it back to our roots to help my patient’s get to the core of any underlying problems. I love teaching prevention, and how to live abundantly."

When we asked Allison for a piece of advice to share with ya'll, she said,

"We often make parenting too competitive and over complicated. Parenting is simple. First of all, find your village! Then, understand that our kids are only looking to us to show them how to maneuver the world they will live in alone one day! They don’t need all the fancy things. They truly just need instructions on how to care for themselves well, how to react to situations in a humble way, implement a good work ethic, and throw in some instructions on how to be authentic to themselves so they can live life fully!

OH and Don’t worry about getting your hair wet or how the postpartum tummy looks in the swim suits- Jump in the pool, do the canon ball or the belly flop if you dare! These are the moments they will remember."
