Brook Rester
Brooke Rester is the owner of Dolce Bakeshop, now with two locations on the Gulf Coast. She started baking out of her home after taking a hobby class in 2006 and fell in love with the craft. (HOW FUN, RIGHT?)
After she and her husband adopted their first daughter in 2013, Brooke knew that she couldn’t be away from her new baby girl for 8 hours a day. So she launched Dolce out of her home, where her business quickly grew to beyond what she could handle in such a small space. In 2017, with two babies under the age of three, she and her husband packed up their lives and moved back home to the coast to open up what is now Dolce Bakeshop in Long Beach.
The bakery has now expanded to two locations - the newest being in Old Town Bay St. Louis. Brooke’s husband, William, has also opened two restaurants in Long Beach - Radish and Kaiteki Noodle Bar. So Brooke often finds herself juggling the duties of being a business owner, wife, and mom. “It’s not always easy,” she says. “but showing our girls what it means to work hard and build a legacy makes it all worth it.”
