We are so excited to introduce you to Michelle Garrett as our Mom Feature Friday! You may recognize this special mama due to her work with Wonder Club Explorers, but wanted to allow her space to share her full story!

“I’m thrilled to say that I am a Gulf Coast mama! I recently moved to Santa Rosa Beach, Florida from Southern California. In California, I worked in local government, and for the past 20 years organized the Tournament of Roses Parade for the City of Pasadena. Here in Florida I work as a Communications Manager for a charming community along the Gulf of Mexico.

My husband is a retired law enforcement officer and we have a 10 year old son who loves sports, Nerf battles, Legos, and everything beach related. As a family, we enjoy traveling and the outdoors. Living on the Gulf Coast has opened up new opportunities for adventures so, of course, we have taken up paddle boarding and boating!

As a full time working mom, I found it challenging to participate in co-ops and meet-ups for parents with young kids on account of my work schedule. To help other parents like me or those who wish for more flexibility in their parenting journey, I launched Wonder Club Explorers. Wonder Club Explorers is an independent scouting program that provides fun activities and merit patches without fundraising and meeting requirements.

Anyone can join Wonder Club Explorers! You don’t need to be in a specific region or part of an organized group. We provide a scouting kit that comes with 18 different merit patches & pennants, a 64-page merit patch activity companion guide, and super adorable vest with plenty of pockets for kids to stow snacks and treasures. We ship our scouting kits all over the United States, and Canada too!
