We are so excited to introduce you to Ngoc Nguyen as our Mom Feature Friday! If you’ve ever tried one of the INCREDIBLE lobster rolls (and other delicious dishes) from Salty Jax Seafood Co, then chances are you’ve met Ngoc before! She’s a rockstar wife, mama, and business owner! ⬇️ ⬇️

Hi! I’m Ngoc Nguyen. I’m so thrilled and honored to be featured as a “Gulf Coast Mom!” I’m a California native born and raised and I moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast back in 2009. I’m a mother of 4! My oldest daughter Haylee is 17 years old - so bright and free spirited, A/B Principal’s Honor Roll and entering her 3rd year in Colorguard. I have two bonus daughters Ellie and Aubrey, ages 9 and 6. They are the sweetest! Both love art, Sanrio and all things SLIME!! And lastly my youngest is our son Jaxton, who is 4. Our caboose who keeps us all on our toes (don’t they always!) He has the biggest heart and loves his family just as much as he loves Disney’s Cars and Ratatouille. Our days and nights consists of school, sports, practices, games, working our primary jobs and running our business. 

Those of you may know me as Co-Owner/Operator of Salty Jax Seafood Co. Prior to opening our business back in September of 2022, I had been working in the casino industry for over 13 years in Player Development.

I started out as a Player Development Representative and worked hard to make my way up to Executive Casino Host. The love I have for the hospitality industry made it so easy for me to interact and build relationships with my guests.

Now, being my own boss, I’ve learned that the customer service skills I’ve carried for past 13+ years led me to excel in the position I am in today. I love the one on one interactions and relationships I’ve now built with our customers. It’s been the most rewarding feeling seeing our customers come back time and time again to support our small local business. I don’t run this business alone. I have the best business partner/husband, Lu, who keeps this business going. His love and passion for food is what gave us the idea to open our own food truck! We are both very grateful to have made it to year two of running our business and we can’t wait to see all the new opportunities and growth as we approach this upcoming year! 

In our free time, when we are not working, we spend all our time with our kids. Whether it’s at the football fields every Friday night, traveling for dance competitions, taking mini road trips to eat good food or just lounging around and enjoying one another’s company. 

What is one piece of advice you'd like to share with the moms out there? 

To always trust your intuition, enjoy the little moments and don’t forget to take time for yourself. You deserve it!
