She was also awarded the “Award of Excellence” w for her flower resin jewelry. Learn more about Sarah here ⬇️ ⬇️

“Hi everyone! My name is Sarah Gigli. My husband Eric and I have been together for 12 years and married for 8. We have two beautiful children - Harper who is 7 and Fischer who just turned 5. We’ve taught our children to love and respect nature from an early age, so time together is enjoyed playing outside or on the water. Whether we are fishing, swimming, or collecting shells on the beach, there is always joy to be found in the moments when we can slow down together and notice the natural beauty all around us.

We own Magnolia Moon where we press flowers and use uv resistant epoxy resin to create pressed flower jewelry and home decor. I am the artist behind the designs and what started as a hobby in February 2023 has quickly blossomed into a thriving business. Eric runs the daily operations and behind the scenes tasks that help our business run smoothly so I can focus on the creative and social side of things. We make a great team.

Since our very first visit to Ocean Springs in 2014, I could just feel there was something special about this place. Between the festivals that occur throughout the year and living within 10 minutes from the water, it made me so excited to put roots down and raise our family here. While I knew I always wanted to be a mom, I never really felt clear on my purpose when it came to my career.

My love of connecting with others landed me a few different sales type jobs but regardless of the environment, I’d eventually feel depleted and burnt out. I knew something had to change, so I took steps to improve my mental and physical health. After recognizing that a work from home insurance job that was physically isolating me from my family and causing more harm than good, I walked away and took a step back to reevaluate how I wanted to show up in the world. Working with resin was new and something my husband and I could learn together as a hobby after the kids were in bed. There was a lot of trial and error at first, but we still had fun despite our failed attempts and struggles in learning how to press flowers correctly. I continued to create and refine my process and now offer a variety of pieces from jewelry to home decor and even custom floral preservation for brides.

The best part is the freedom it gives me to be with my family and to be my most authentic self at the end of the day. When I’m creating at home, my children get to see first hand what hard work looks like when it’s fueled by passion, not stress or pressure to perform. As a mom, I want the same feeling for my children in their future careers, regardless of the path they choose.”

What is one piece of advice you'd like to share with the moms out there?

“Allowing your children to see you pursuing your passions isn’t selfish, it’s inspiring. Whether it be your full time career or a weekend hobby, it matters that our children see us regularly pursuing joy and changing direction when needed. Let’s show them what it looks like to be like wildflowers in this world, continuing to grow despite our personal struggles. Teaching them how to be both fragile and resilient, vulnerable and strong. So when they grow and face the seasons of life, they trust themselves to walk the unknown path knowing we will be right there beside them.”

Sarah, thank you for the chance to feature you! Make sure to check out Sarah’s amazing pressed flower jewelry and home decor in time for the holiday season!
