Today's FEATURE FRIDAY goes out to a working mama who has helped SO many mamas across the Gulf Coast. As she recently announced her upcoming retirement, we wanted to take today to feature Stephanie Garner Gable, the founder of Gulf Coast Breastfeeding Center

Stephanie has been married to her husband, Jeff, for 32 years and they have three adult children. She has been a Maternal Child Nurse for 35 years and an IBCLC for 22 years. She spent so much of her time in the hospital beating the breastfeeding drum. Stephanie was able to bring the exclusive breastfeeding rates from one to as high as 87% by simply training nurses. She then felt the need to go into the community and sustain the communities of women that were now breastfeeding but had no one knowledgeable to help them.

If you are a nursing mother along the coast, chances are you have crossed paths with Stephanie.

"I told Jeff that if I do my job right, moms will help each others and they won’t need me as much which will be a good thing. Well, moms are breastfeeding in droves and other mommas are helping each other as a community."
