Tara fox
We are so excited to introduce you to Tara Fox as our Mom Feature Friday! This amazing mama goes by a handful of names, and if you know her by any/all of them, consider yourself blessed! Take it away, Tara! ⬇️
“Honey”
“Honey” by my sweet husband of 11 years, but my boyfriend since we were 14. I love going on dates with my man and feeling like “his girl” and we are 16 all over again.
“Mama”
I am called “mama” by my 4 children Trent (15), Trevin (12), Titus (8), and our baby girl Natalyn (5). My boys have always been in sports so if it’s ball season you’ll usually find me at the ball field. Just listen, I’m sure you’ll be able to hear me cheering for my little foxes! Natalyn just recently started dance and we’ve unlocked a new level of fun with having a daughter!
“Sister”
I am known as “sister” by not only my 2 older siblings, but all my sisters in Christ. I am a faithful member and Sunday school teacher at Campground Baptist Church. If you are looking for a church home or just to visit we would love to have you!
“Mrs. Tara”
I have been a bus aide for HCSD for 11 years and am currently in my 2nd year at Busy Bee Montessori School. Blessed is such an understatement. They say ‘if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life’.
FUN FACT: “When I was growing up I wanted to be a singer (not that I’m Hollywood material haha) and a mom. God knew what I needed before I even knew how to ask. My youngest starts 1st grade in August and my oldest is in his first year of high school. I’m so thankful my “raising children up in the way they should go” is nowhere near over. The Lord is so good to me… Psalm 37:4 KJV says, Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”
When we asked Tara for a piece of advice to share with ya’ll, here’s what she had to say:
“Of course we’ve all heard soak it in, they grow up so fast. True, but you won’t REALLY get it until it’s done. Take the pics, videos, slow down and get in their world for just a few min a day, the little girl inside will thank you and so will your child. Let’s remember something that goes past our time on this Earth, God hand picked each one of us to be the mother of that child. The one who makes us melt with their sweet gestures, the one that puts that sweet little hand in your shirt collar even after they’ve finished nursing, the one asking those innocent questions and absorbing every word… but even the one who makes us want to hide in the bathroom to cry because you feel inadequate, inexperienced, and incapable.
Ask HIM. Call out to the very one who knows how many hairs are on your head to mother your children through you. He can. You don’t have to do it alone, he didn’t expect you to when he picked you! ‘As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.’ Psalm 127:4
I see a lot of moms today surviving motherhood and it breaks my heart. We must be good stewards of God’s gifts because they’re not ours to keep. He will take them away one day… what we do now to shape those arrows will determine where they land.
Stop trying to be their friend and make them happy. God is love, but he is also just. Let them see you pray, worship, and bear those fruits of the spirit.
Let them know where your help and strength comes from and they can draw from the same well. My children know I’m not perfect, but they know my love for the Lord. I make sure they see God is real in my life. He heals broken hearts AND scraped knees. He blesses us, teaches us and provides for us. I pray that when God takes my children though life and into death that not only will God be glorified, but that my babies will be just as glad he picked me to be their mom as I am. If you don’t know my sweet Jesus, please reach out. He has a plan for you and your children. He picked you and me just as much as he picked Mary for Jesus! There is so much I could say, but I’ll leave you with this. God made you, let him use you. You can try to be your best self, but unless you yield yourself to him you’ll never fulfill the plan he has for your life. Jeremiah 29:11 - ‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.’
Maybe you’re called multiple things too but let us stand together, holding those shields of faith, being called REDEEMED and all else will fall into place.”
